BARS Support and Choosing a Training Provider·21 views
No. Price is certainly something to consider, and BARS Training Australia believes our security courses are among the most competitively priced in Queensland, but price alone should never determine where you complete the training that will form the foundation of your security career.
The knowledge and practical skills you gain during your Certificate II may be called upon when dealing with conflict, protecting people, responding to an emergency or making a decision that has serious legal consequences. Quality training matters. Unfortunately, there are training environments where students spend much of the course watching PowerPoint presentations or are effectively given the answers needed to complete assessments. That might make obtaining a qualification easier, but it doesn't necessarily prepare you for your first security shift. Do your homework and get some real “bang for your buck”.
Look beyond the advertised price and ask who will actually be teaching you. How much security industry experience do they have? Is the course genuinely practical? Will you participate in realistic scenarios and role-plays? What student support is provided? What happens after you graduate? BARS has seven highly qualified facilitators with more than 250 years of combined industry experience, and our courses place considerable emphasis on practical security skills and realistic scenarios. Competitive pricing is important to us, but so is making sure you leave with knowledge and skills you can actually use.
The cheapest course isn't necessarily the best value – and neither is the most expensive. Choose a security trainer who knows their stuff and gives you genuine value for the money you are spending.
