Queensland legislation now requires that Responsible Management of Licensed Venue (RMLV) trainings mandatory for all licensees and applicants for a manager's licence. Responsible management of Licensed Venue RMLV training was developed to reduce the negative impact of poor management practices on the community.

As the course targets licensees and approved managers it is specifically designed with a management focus. The course not only provides details of the law and liquor licence requirements, it also includes a range of management strategies to assist operators in the responsible conduct of their business.

As an Approved Training Provider with the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation, BARS Training Australia (National Provider Number 32061) now offers this State Government Course utilising only the most qualified facilitators.

This RMLV training course is delivered via online video conferencing tools providing you with a simulated classroom environment where you will interact with the trainer and other course participants.  You will be required to have:

  • A computer, tablet or iPad with a webcam
  • A strong, reliable internet connection
  • Microphone and speakers (preferably a headset and directional microphone for sound quality purposes)

The course is delivered over a minimum of 10 hours (1 day) and by an approved trainer with years in relevant industry experience.  You will be required to attend the course for the full duration.

Assessment for this course will be required prior to successful completion of the course

  • Our video conference training for RMLV is conducted via Zoom (https://zoom.us). In order to access the training course, all participants completing an RMLV course via this method are required to download the Zoom software or application to their device.
  • For the video conference training participants will be required to have a computer, tablet or iPad with a webcam in conjunction with a strong reliable internet connection and a microphone and speakers (preferably a headset and directional microphone for sound quality purposes).
  • Delivery via this method is the same as the face-to-face delivery whereby training takes place over a minimum of ten (10) hours [one day] by an approved trainer.
  • Participants are required to attend the course for the full duration of the training (breaks will be provided) and participate in group discussions via their webcam.
  • Assessment for training provided via this method will be required prior to successful completion of the course.
  • If a participant is not present for the full duration of the course, they will not be deemed competent and will not be issued with their Queensland OLGR approved RMLV course certificate.
 
HLTAID014 - Provide advanced first aid
Current crowd controller / bodyguards in Queensland must undertake HLTAID006 - Advanced first aid every 3 years.  Our flexible program is suitable for those needing workplace approved advanced first aid training or for those who just want to gain the extra skills and knowledge to provide a higher level of first aid care. This unit is in partial completion of CPP31318 - Certificate III in Security Operations.

Target clients of these competencies are currently Queensland licensed crowd controller or bodyguards seeking to complete their triennial refresher training, a mandatory requirement for licensing. 

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response, including management of the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

This course provides the skills to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders until the arrival of medical or other assistance. This course provides students with skills and knowledge required to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. It is relevant to workers who may be required to use specialised equipment to provide and emergency response in a range of complex situations, include community and workplace settings.

PRE-COURSE WORKBOOK - The participant will be supplied with pre-course material which includes a course introduction and overview, where the student will receive information about study support, access to learning resources, flexible scheduling and delivery of training and assessment.  Information will also be given to the student about information and communication technology and any other services deemed necessary to support learners to achieve competency.

PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT - This phase allows participants to be assessed against the required competencies whilst taking part in role-plays, scenario enactments, group discussions and demonstrations that create an excellent and variety-based learning environment.

Note: Course requires participants to attend 2 full days face-to-face practical training

Skills must be demonstrated working individually in an environment that provides realistic in-depth, industry-validated scenarios and simulations to assess candidates’ skills and knowledge.  Participants will also be required to undertake practical training and assessments at floor level. This includes demonstrating CPR on a manikin for a period of two minutes. If you have poor mobility or a current injury please discuss this with us prior to booking. Participants under the age of 18 are required to provide a consent form completed by their legal guardian.

HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid + HLTAID009 Provide CPR

This program will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to administer first aid to a casualty who has sustained an injury or illness, until the arrival of professional medical help.  Our experienced trainers take a professional approach that not only delivers the necessary knowledge and skills to confidently administer first aid, but the courses are also structured in a friendly, fun and enjoyable learning environment.

Target clients of this qualification are new entrants to the security industry seeking to obtain a security officer’s license and potentially a crowd controller’s license.

Legislation in Queensland requires persons working as security officers to be licensed. The Office of Fair Trading administers and issues licenses to successful applicants. Successful completion of HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid is a mandatory requirement for licensing.

Whilst the theory and concepts are covered in the course, ours courses are focused on the various practical skills needed to administer first aid. Underpinning knowledge and case scenario assessments are given to the client to complete prior to attending the practical face-to-face component of the course. This allows the client to study the theory at their own pace.

All our courses use a very “hands on” approach where theory is learnt while performing scenarios relevant to the client’s industry. We use a theatrical approach to the role plays to make them appear very realistic. Mix and match games, group activities, video and PowerPoint presentations making our courses interactive and a very enjoyable learning experience.

NOTE - BARS Training Australia is NOT registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Student (CRICOS). The Office of Fair Trading Queensland will not accept a training certificate issued to a student visa holder unless such training is conducted by a CRICOS approved provider. HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

This program will provide you with the necessary skills to provide care to an unconscious casualty in an emergency situation until the arrival of professional help. Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation is a vital skill that can save the life of a casualty when they have stopped breathing. This course focuses on practicing this skill on our special CPR mankins (adults, junior and baby mankins). The perform CPR course is conducted over a 3 to 4 hour session.

Target clients of this qualification are new entrants to the security industry seeking to obtain a security officer’s license and potentially a crowd controller’s license.

SITHGAM022 - Provide Responsible Gambling Services
The required certification in Queensland is a Statement of Attainment, issued on completion of the national training package competency Provide Responsible Gambling Services. Responsible gambling services must be provided wherever gambling activities are undertaken. In the hospitality industry, the gambling environment is usually referred to as the gaming area and is provided in a range of venues, such as hotels, motels, clubs, pubs and casinos. Please note that this is a face-to-face- course and not offered online.

Responsible provision of gambling services is an essential underpinning skill for all hospitality personnel involved in the sale and service of gambling activities in licensed premises, including the licensee, gaming supervisors and gaming managers when involved in operational gambling activities.

The unit applies equally to frontline operational gambling personnel who operate with a limited level of autonomy and under some supervision and guidance from others. They would operate within predefined organisational procedures, and regulatory authority and industry and organisational codes of conduct.

Certificate Validity
In Queensland, a Statement of Attainment does not expire once obtained, even though the code identifying this course (currently, SITHFAB021) regularly changes. This means that if you hold a Statement of Attainment for Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol from anytime in the past, it remains current irrespective of the course code.

SITHFAB021 - Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol
The required certification in Queensland is a Statement of Attainment, issued on completion of the national training package competency Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol. Hospitality staff are required to complete RSA training within 30 days of starting employment and maintain a current RSA training course certificate during their employment.
Please note that this is a face-to-face- course and not offered online.
The unit applies to all levels of sales personnel involved in the sale, service and promotional service of alcohol in licensed premises. Those selling or serving alcohol may include food and beverage attendants; packaged liquor sales persons selling in person, over the phone or online; winery, brewery and distillery cellar door staff; and supplier sales representatives. The unit also applies to security staff who monitor customer behaviour and to the licensee who is ultimately responsible for responsible service of alcohol (RSA) management.

Certificate Validity
In Queensland, a Statement of Attainment does not expire once obtained, even though the code identifying this course (currently, SITHFAB021) regularly changes. This means that if you hold a Statement of Attainment for Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol from anytime in the past, it remains current irrespective of the course code.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the acknowledgment of skills and knowledge held by an individual as a result of formal training, work experience and /or life experience. If you believe that you already possess some or all of the learning outcomes contained in this course and you can demonstrate current competency, then you can apply for RPL.  To register for RPL you simply contact BARS Training Australia on (07) 5529 0834 during office hours or alternatively complete your online application indicating that you wish to apply for RPL and one of our staff will contact you.

Enrolments
Enrolment occurs through online registration and payment of course fees.  Your details are captured and stored securely, with the results of your training being linked to this enrolment information.

Refunds
All requests for refunds are to be made in writing on a Refund Request this form that needs to be accompanied by supporting documentation where applicable. This form can be obtained by contacting the BARS Training Australia on (07) 5529 0834 during office hours.
