What identification must a crowd controller wear in Queensland?

Crowd Control in Queensland · 20 views
hen performing crowd control duties in Queensland, you must wear the prescribed crowd controller identification so that it is clearly visible. Section 25 of the Security Providers Regulation 2008 requires the identification to be worn on your clothing at chest level. The identification must display the word “SECURITY” in black capital letters on a white background, with the letters at least 10mm high and 2mm thick. It must also display your unique crowd controller number in black on a white background, with the number at least 30mm high and 4mm thick. Each crowd controller working at the same public place must wear a different number.  The identification is normally issued by the venue or security firm and cannot simply be worn on an armband or lanyard.

You must also have your security provider licence readily available when working. Your licence may be required for inspection by an authorised investigator, which can include officers from the Queensland Police Service, Office of Fair Trading and other authorised regulatory agencies. The identification number is particularly important because it provides members of the public, venue management and investigators with a way of identifying the particular crowd controller involved in an incident.

In simple terms, when you are performing crowd control duties, wear your SECURITY identification clearly at chest height and make sure your security licence is readily available if an authorised investigator asks to see it.
