Does BARS offer Queensland crowd controller refresher courses?

Yes. BARS Training Australia delivers the Queensland crowd controller and bodyguard refresher, or revalidation, course for licensed security providers who need to complete their compulsory three-year ongoing training. The current BARS refresher course includes CPPSEC3101 Manage conflict and security risks through negotiation, CPPSEC3121 Control persons using empty hand techniques and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.
BARS has been delivering security training throughout Queensland for more than 20 years, including regional and remote communities, so we understand that getting to a refresher course before your due date is not always as simple as it sounds. We encourage crowd controllers to book early and allow enough time to complete the training, have all assessment requirements marked and receive their Statement of Attainment.
Your three-year revalidation date is not necessarily the same as the expiry date printed on your security licence, so it is important to keep track of the training date provided by the Office of Fair Trading. BARS also sends refresher reminders to our students because we would much rather see you back in the classroom before your training becomes overdue.
Once your training has been successfully completed and certification issued, BARS also provides the required training results directly to OFT under our long-standing reporting arrangement. And for many of our students, refresher training becomes something of a reunion – it is always good to see people we trained years ago coming back through the door.
