What crowd control units are refreshed every three years?

Existing Officers and Refresher Training · 25 views
Queensland crowd controllers and bodyguards must complete three units of ongoing or revalidation training every three years. The current units are CPPSEC3101 Manage conflict and security risks through negotiation, CPPSEC3121 Control persons using empty hand techniques, and either HLTAID011 Provide First Aid or HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid.

These units make sense when you consider the work of a crowd controller. Conflict management and negotiation skills are constantly used when dealing with people, while empty-hand techniques ensure you can respond safely and appropriately when communication alone is not enough. First aid remains an essential skill because crowd controllers regularly work in environments where injuries, illness and emergencies can occur. Remember that your three-year revalidation date is not necessarily the expiry date printed on your security licence. OFT provides the dates for your ongoing training with your licence, and you are responsible for completing the units and submitting the results before they expire.

BARS Training Australia delivers the required revalidation training and sends reminders to our students when their training is approaching. Don't leave it until the last minute. Allow sufficient time to complete the course, have your assessments marked and receive your Statement of Attainment.

CPR is also an ongoing requirement, but it operates on a different timetable – HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation must be refreshed every 12 months.
