Your crowd controller or bodyguard revalidation training should be completed before the due date provided by the Queensland Office of Fair Trading (OFT). When renewing online, OFT would like the required training evidence uploaded as part of the renewal process. However, there is an important practical option if your required revalidation course was not readily available before you needed to lodge your renewal.
OFT has confirmed in writing to BARS Training Australia that a licensee who is completing their required ongoing training and is still waiting for their training evidence may upload proof of enrolment with their online renewal application. For BARS students, we recommend uploading your BARS course confirmation/enrolment email in these circumstances.
Once you successfully complete your revalidation training, BARS Training Australia will issue your Statement of Attainment. We also automatically provide the required training results directly to OFT as they are issued. This is a long-standing arrangement BARS has maintained with OFT and provides a much more efficient process than simply waiting for every individual security provider to forward their own certificate. Remember, though, that proof of enrolment does not replace your obligation to actually complete the required revalidation training. It provides OFT with evidence that you are enrolled and progressing towards meeting the requirement while your renewal is being processed. Our advice is still to book your revalidation early wherever possible.
But if timing becomes tight, don't simply allow your licence to expire because you are waiting for a course or certificate – lodge your renewal and provide the available evidence.
