A Queensland Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV) certificate remains current for three years from the date it is issued. The Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR) makes it the certificate holder's responsibility to complete further RMLV training before their current certificate expires.
This is particularly important for individual liquor licensees and approved managers because they are required to hold a current RMLV certificate while performing those roles. Licensed premises must also keep a current copy of their approved managers' RMLV certificates at the venue so they are available as part of the venue's compliance records.
Don't confuse RMLV with a Queensland RSA Statement of Attainment. A valid nationally recognised RSA qualification generally does not expire, whereas an RMLV certificate must be renewed every three years. If your work involves managing licensed premises, it is therefore important to keep track of the actual issue and expiry dates on your RMLV certificate rather than waiting until your employer or OLGR reminds you.
