My Crowd Controller licence expired more than 12 months ago and my three-year refresher training was overdue. Do I have to complete the refresher units before making a new application?

No, not solely because those units became due as an ongoing training requirement under your former Crowd Controller licence.

OFT confirmed that CPPSEC3101 – Manage conflict and security risks using negotiation and CPPSEC3121 – Control persons using empty hand techniques do not have to be repeated merely because they became due as an ongoing training requirement attached to a previous Crowd Controller licence that has since expired.

Where the former licence expired more than 12 months ago, an outstanding three-yearly training requirement from that former licence does not create an additional training requirement for the new application.

The applicant must still satisfy the approved training and other licensing requirements applicable to the new application.
