Possibly. Having a previous qualification does not automatically mean you cannot access Career Start funding. What matters is the level of the qualification, when you completed it and whether one of the Queensland Government exclusions or exemptions applies. Under the current Career Start eligibility rules, you generally must not have completed a Certificate III or higher-level qualification within the previous 10 years.
However, qualifications completed while you were at school and foundation skills qualifications are excluded from this restriction, and other specific exemptions may apply. This means that holding a Certificate I or Certificate II qualification will not generally prevent you from accessing Career Start funding for the CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations. Importantly, don't assume that an old qualification automatically makes you ineligible.
BARS Training Australia is required as a Skills Assure Supplier to properly establish your funding eligibility before enrolment. The student must submit an application containing the required declarations and identification so that previous qualifications and other eligibility requirements can be checked through the Queensland Government funding process. All course costs and funding eligibility will then be fully disclosed during your pre-enrolment assessment. Submitting an application to BARS does not commit you to enrolment, and you are under no obligation to proceed with the course once your funding position and course costs have been explained.
