Generally, no. Under the Queensland Government Career Start eligibility rules, you generally cannot be currently enrolled in another qualification when seeking Career Start funding for the CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations. This can include another qualification that you have commenced but not yet completed. There are limited exceptions, including certain foundation skills training, so each applicant's circumstances need to be properly checked before enrolment.
The Queensland Government requires Skills Assure Suppliers such as BARS Training Australia to identify any courses you are currently enrolled in and verify your eligibility before providing subsidised training. This is another reason BARS cannot confirm your funding eligibility simply from a telephone conversation or email. You must submit an application containing the required declarations and identification so that BARS can undertake the required government checks, including checking your previous and current training records. If you have started another course, deferred it, placed it on hold or are unsure whether you are still formally enrolled, tell us on your application. Don't assume that because you haven't attended recently the enrolment has disappeared.
BARS will assess the information and explain your funding position during your pre-enrolment assessment. All course costs and funding eligibility will be fully disclosed before you enrol. Submitting an application to BARS does not commit you to enrolment, and you are not required to proceed after your eligibility and costs have been explained.
