Yes. Eligible Queenslanders may access subsidised CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations training through the Queensland Government’s Career Start program. BARS Training Australia (RTO 32061) is proud to be an approved Skills Assure Supplier (SAS) delivering this funded training across approved Queensland regions. Career Start is designed to support entry-level training that leads to employment. To be eligible, applicants generally need to be at least 15 years old, no longer at school, permanently reside in Queensland, meet citizenship or eligible residency requirements, not have completed a Certificate III or higher qualification within the previous 10 years (with specified exceptions), and not currently be enrolled in another qualification. Specific eligibility restrictions also apply to funded security training.
Importantly, BARS cannot simply tell you over the telephone or by email that you are definitely funded. We can certainly explain the Career Start eligibility rules and give you an indication of whether the program may be available to you, but formal eligibility must be established before enrolment.
Applicants are required to complete declarations and provide appropriate identification and supporting information. As a Skills Assure Supplier, BARS must assess and retain evidence of your eligibility and undertake the required government funding checks before confirming a subsidised training place. This is why every prospective funded BARS student completes an application and pre-enrolment assessment. We check your eligibility, suitability for security licensing, previous qualifications, support needs and other relevant requirements before enrolment.
So, give us a call and we will happily explain the program – but please understand that funding cannot be promised until your application and the required eligibility checks have been completed. Click here for more details about the Career Start Program (
