Can someone else pay my Career Start co-contribution fee?
Security Course Fees and Payment Options·28 views
Yes. If you are required to pay a student co-contribution fee under Career Start, that fee does not necessarily have to come directly from you. Queensland Government funding rules allow the co-contribution fee to be paid on behalf of the student by an employer or another third party that is unrelated to the Skills Assure Supplier. This means, for example, that a future employer, employment service provider, family member, friend or another independent organisation may pay the required fee on your behalf. There is, however, one very important restriction.
BARS Training Australia, as the Skills Assure Supplier delivering your Queensland Government funded training, cannot pay, waive or indirectly reimburse a mandatory student co-contribution fee unless specifically approved by the Department. The funding rules also prevent the training provider from later refunding or returning that payment to the student or third-party payer. The purpose of the co-contribution is to ensure there is a genuine contribution towards the cost of subsidised training where one is required.
So, yes – someone else can certainly help you with the fee. It just can't be BARS Training Australia paying its own student's mandatory contribution.
