es. Like many Queensland Government fees and charges, Office of Fair Trading (OFT) security licensing fees are typically adjusted from 1 July each year in accordance with the Queensland Government’s indexation policy. For example, on 1 July 2026 OFT fees and charges increased by 3.4%.
This means the cost of your security licence application, renewal, criminal history check, fingerprinting and other applicable licensing fees can change from one financial year to the next. For this reason, BARS Training Australia does not recommend relying on an old application form or a fee someone remembers paying previously. Always check the current fees before submitting your application. BARS facilitators explain the licensing process during your CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations course, but the fees themselves are set by the Queensland Government and paid separately from your BARS training fees.
For the complete and current list of security provider licensing fees, including Class 1 licences, restricted licences, renewals, criminal history checks and fingerprinting, refer directly to the Queensland Office of Fair Trading fee schedule. (
