Can BARS Training Australia issue my security licence?

Queensland Security Licensing · 27 views
No. BARS Training Australia cannot issue a Queensland security provider licence. We are a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 32061), so our role is to provide the nationally recognised training and certification required for the security licence functions you are seeking. The Queensland Office of Fair Trading (OFT) is the government regulator responsible for receiving, assessing and approving security provider licence applications.

We sometimes receive calls from employment agencies asking us for a quote to “issue” security licences, which always gives us a smile because there is only one place to obtain a Queensland security provider licence – the Office of Fair Trading. They will give you the cheapest quote, the dearest quote and, most importantly, the only quote!

BARS can certainly help you get there. Our facilitators explain the licensing process during your training, including how to complete the application and what happens after it is submitted. BARS also provides ongoing licensing guidance and, where necessary, advocacy support to students experiencing problems with their initial application. But the final decision about whether a security licence is issued belongs entirely to OFT.

Think of it simply: BARS provides the training and qualification; OFT provides the security licence.
