Why does BARS deliver security training regionally?

Regional Queensland Security Training · 22 views
Because regional, rural and remote Queensland needs trained security providers just as much as Brisbane and the Gold Coast – and sometimes even more. For more than 20 years, BARS Training Australia has made a deliberate commitment to take quality face-to-face security training to communities throughout Queensland rather than expecting every student to travel to South East Queensland.

Regional communities have airports, ports, mines, hospitals, licensed premises, shopping centres, tourism facilities, major events, government facilities and critical infrastructure that all require security services. In some locations, employers struggle to find enough appropriately trained and licensed security providers locally. Training people within their own community helps build a local security workforce and creates employment opportunities for people who already live there. It also keeps skills, employment and income within those communities.

Delivering regionally isn't always easy. We have to transport facilitators, practical training equipment and assessment resources considerable distances and, on occasions, charter aircraft to reach remote communities. But we believe your postcode shouldn't determine the quality of security training available to you. Whether we are conducting a course on the Gold Coast, in Townsville, Mount Isa, Cape York or Murray Island, BARS delivers the same qualification to the same training and assessment standards.

We also genuinely enjoy going to new places. Many of the locations where BARS now regularly delivers training began because a community or group of students simply asked us to come. More than 20 years later, regional Queensland isn't an addition to what BARS does – it's a major part of who we are.
