Can BARS review my old certificates before I enrol?
RPL and Previous Security Training·18 views
Yes – and we would prefer to review them before you enrol. BARS Training Australia’s pre-enrolment process is designed to identify previous training and experience so we can determine whether credit transfer or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may apply. If you have old qualifications, Statements of Attainment or a USI transcript, provide them with your application.
Where you have previously completed the exact same or equivalent nationally recognised unit with another Australian RTO, BARS can verify the evidence and determine whether credit transfer applies. Older security qualifications that do not qualify for direct credit transfer may still provide useful evidence towards an RPL application, particularly where you can also demonstrate recent and current security industry experience.
Remember, an old certificate tells us what you were assessed as competent to do at that time – it does not necessarily demonstrate that your skills remain current today. Reviewing everything before enrolment means we can explain what can be credited, what may support RPL and what training or assessment you may still need. Most importantly, we don't want you enrolling and paying to repeat training unnecessarily.
Show us what you've got first, and we will help you determine the most appropriate training pathway before you enrol.
