After completing the CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations and obtaining the appropriate Queensland Class 1 security provider licence, you can apply for a surprisingly broad range of security jobs. Depending on the functions shown on your licence, opportunities can include crowd control, static guarding, shopping centre security, loss prevention, gatehouse and access control, mobile patrols, monitoring and control-room work, event security, licensed premises, hospitals, industrial facilities and other security roles throughout Queensland.

Your CPP20218 qualification is also a foundation you can build upon. BARS Training Australia conducts a cash-in-transit course following many of our Certificate II security courses, allowing students to undertake the additional training required for the cash-in-transit licence function. Adding another function such as cash-in-transit to your security licence can make you more attractive to prospective employers because it increases the range of duties you may lawfully perform. Cash-in-transit training is not currently funded through Career Start and is therefore a fee-for-service course.  However, once you have trained with BARS, you receive our 20% student loyalty discount on future BARS training. Depending on the course location and delivery costs, this can reduce some BARS cash-in-transit courses to as little as $200. Your first security job does not have to determine your entire career. Get qualified, obtain the appropriate licence functions, get some experience and continue developing your skills.

BARS will continue supporting you through our employment network, Employment Portal, BASE Camp and further training as your security career develops.
