Does Certificate II let me apply for crowd control and unarmed security?
Security Training and CPP20218·22 views
Yes. In Queensland, completing the CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations provides the required training pathway to apply to the Queensland Office of Fair Trading for a Class 1 security provider licence covering the functions of crowd controller, security officer (unarmed) and security officer (monitoring). However, completing the qualification does not itself make you a licensed security provider.
You must separately apply to the Office of Fair Trading and satisfy its licensing and suitability requirements. Importantly, you cannot perform these regulated security functions for profit or reward until the appropriate security provider licence has been issued. BARS Training Australia (RTO 32061) provides the nationally recognised training required for these licence functions and also provides students with practical guidance about the licensing process following completion of their course.
