Yes. BARS Training Australia offers Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training concurrently with the CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations. This means students can complete the RSA training at the same time as their security course. However, RSA is a hospitality training product and is not part of the CPP20218 Security Operations qualification itself. Because it is a separate training product, BARS must treat it as a separate enrolment and issue a separate Statement of Attainment.
ASQA requires RTOs to deliver and certify nationally recognised training only where the relevant training product is on the RTO’s scope of registration, and certification must be issued in accordance with the VET Compliance Requirements and Australian Qualifications Framework. BARS therefore completes the additional enrolment and certification process for students who choose to undertake RSA concurrently.
A small $30 administration fee applies to cover the separate enrolment and issue of the additional Statement of Attainment. RSA is not required to obtain a Queensland security provider licence, but it is often requested by future employers, particularly where crowd controllers or security officers intend to work at licensed premises. Offering RSA concurrently allows students to leave training with an additional employment-related qualification without having to return later and complete a separate course.
