How long is the BARS Certificate II security course?

Security Training and CPP20218 · 24 views
BARS Training Australia delivers the CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations through self-paced pre-course learning followed by seven full days of face-to-face practical training and assessment. Security training requirements and delivery arrangements can differ between Australian states and territories, with some jurisdictions requiring substantially longer periods of face-to-face attendance. BARS developed a comprehensive self-paced workbook program in which related learning and assessment activities are clustered to reduce unnecessary duplication – essentially, students are not repeatedly being asked the same questions simply because similar knowledge appears across several units of competency.

This structured approach supports BARS' seven-day face-to-face component, allowing classroom time to concentrate heavily on practical skills, demonstrations, scenarios, role-plays and assessment. The program and its delivery arrangements have been subject to ASQA regulatory oversight. Importantly, BARS also recognises that seven consecutive training days may not suit everyone. Wherever possible, we can tailor attendance around a student's individual circumstances. For example, FIFO workers and other students with employment commitments may complete Modules 1, 2 and 3 during one course and return the following month to complete their remaining modules. Students still need to complete all required learning, training and assessment, but we try to make the way they progress through the course fit their individual circumstances wherever possible. Supporting the student journey means maintaining the required competency standard while also recognising that our students have work, family and other commitments outside the classroom.
