You need sufficient English language skills to meet the requirements of the CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations. BARS conducts a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) assessment before enrolment, together with a pre-enrolment interview, to identify whether a student may require additional learning support. BARS can provide learning assistance and reasonable adjustment where appropriate; however, reasonable adjustment cannot remove or change an essential requirement of the qualification.

Security is a communication-focused industry, and students must be able to understand instructions, communicate effectively, complete required workplace documentation and demonstrate the communication skills specified within the units of competency. Importantly, the CPP20218 qualification requires students to demonstrate sufficient English language skills to communicate and brief emergency services personnel when responding to an incident. This is a competency requirement and therefore must be demonstrated by the student during assessment. If you are concerned about your English language skills, speak with BARS before enrolling.
